Bachchan Pandey

Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey is one of the most anticipated Hindi releases of the year. The movie’s trailer and posters have also impressed the fans, with the actor’s look being a major talking point.

It is understood that the movie’s makers tried at least eight times to get the actor’s rugged and ruthless look for the movie.

A source close to the development reveals, "Akshay and Sajid were very keen to try something different for the look of Bachchhan Paandey, so they sat with the creative team to brainstorm in order to translate their imaginations of the character's look to reality.

The source added that the team had been looking for the perfect look for the star’s character for some time and that after trying at least eight sorts of permutations and combinations, they singled upon the look they finally went ahead with.

Akshay Kumar’s look as the titular character featured him sporting a rugged look, with scars across his face, a grey beard and a mustache. While he wore a black shirt and denim pants, he was also given an evil eye, which went well with a number of gold chains around his neck.

Co-written and directed by Farhad Samji, the action comedy is bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The movie also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra and Abhimanyu Singh among others.

Bachchan Pandey which is touted to be the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit film Jigarthanda is set to hit theatres across the country on 18 March 2022.
