Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John is one of the most-awaited films of 2024. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the film has been garnering a lot of attention ever since it was announced. Baby John also marks Keerthy Suresh's debut in the Hindi film industry. The cast also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in the key roles. Ahead of the release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) censored some dialogues along with 3 violent scenes.

CBFC suggests changes in Baby John

As per Bollywood Hungama, Varun Dhawan's Baby John already received a U/A certificate. However, VBFC asked for certain modifications. The duration of the opening disclaimer was increased. Additionally, the makers were asked to add a line, 'The title of the film, Baby John bears no connection or resemblance to any political figure or entity.' A voiceover and text were added stating that the child actors performed according to existing guidelines. A consent form was also submitted to CBFC.

Two dialogues have been censored. In one place, 'Phule' was muted in a dialogue that referred to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. In another scene Lal Bahadur Shastri is replaced by another word; The replacement word is unspecified in the cut list.

Moreover, the CBFC also asked the makers for four visual modifications. The scene where a character kicks a 'kalash' (pot) was modified. Visuals of characters on fire reduced by 50%. Third, the visual of a character flicking a cigarette butt into another character's mouth was changed. Finally, a close shot of the gunshot has also been changed.

Baby John runtime

The duration of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 164.01 minutes. In other words, the run time of Baby John is 2 hours 44 minutes and 1 second.

Baby John cast

Varun Dhawan plays the main lead in the action-packed film. It also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna, and Jackie Shroff in significant roles. The film is produced by Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, and A for Apple Productions. It features music composed by the talented Thaman S, while Kiran Koushik takes care of the cinematography and Ruben takes charge of editing.

Directed by Kalees, Baby John is all set to hit theaters on December 25.
