Varun Dhawan talks about Baby John and reveals that it is a contemporary adaptation rather than a frame-by-frame remake.
Baby John is Bollywood's adaptation of the 2016 Tamil film Theri and Varun Dhawan recently answered questions regarding the project at a press event. The big screen will release the Kalees-directed film on December 25.
Baby John is an adaptation with major adjustments, not a remake, as Dhawan made clear. When Atlee presented the film he made plans for its location and informed the team that they needed to significantly alter the film's geography. The actor believes they have accomplished their goal of using it as an adaptation rather than a true remake.

He continued by warning viewers not to expect a frame-by-frame replication of Theri. As one can see, Dhawan explained that many of the story angles and frames have undergone changes. It is an adaptation, so viewers expecting a book-by-book adaptation may be disappointed. Dhawan added that it's more of an adaptation, not a runaway.
The film, the actor claims, provides a fresh perspective on parenting while also drawing attention to the precarious state of women in India. Moreover, the film features a plot that draws inspiration from real-life events. The film explores a significant case, grounded in actual facts, as an additional plot point. He emphasised that, from this perspective, the role has also undergone significant changes.
In the film, DCP Satya Verma IPS, also known as Baby John, fakes his own death and lives underground in Kerala with his daughter Khushi after suffering a personal tragedy. But when his political enemy Babbar Sher learns he is alive, his history begins to resurface.
Atlee produces and Kalees directs Baby John. In addition to Jackie Shroff, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Keerthy Suresh, the film features Varun Dhawan in a tough persona. Salman Khan, Sanya Malhotra, and Diljit Dosanjh are just a few of the special guests that promise to make the film more appealing.
Baby John will release on December 25 and features an enthralling story and high-octane action sequences.
