The movie, which is set to go floors soon, will be directed by Rajeev Nath
While Mollywood actor Babu Antony has now often been approached for action-oriented roles, he will be seen in a character role after ages in director Rajeev Nath’s upcoming film Headmaster.
The movie, which is set to go on floors soon, is based on acclaimed writer Karoor Neelakanta Pillai’s short story Pothichoru. The story revolves around a headmaster helping a child, who informs him that his lunch had gone missing. After his unsuccessful enquiries with 150 students and five colleagues, he then proceeds to send a letter to the management of the school, writing that he was the one who had stolen the lunch and explaining his reasons.
Babu Antony, who is currently in Thiruvananthapuram, had posted on social media that Headmaster is a rooted-to-reality film that he will begin shooting in a few days. The actor recently flew down from the US to shoot the movie along with the 3D fantasy drama Kadamattathu Kathanar.
On roping in the veteran actor, Kadamattathu Kathanar director TS Suresh Babu, who will be helming the latter big budget movie, had earlier told OTTplay, “Babu’s physique was the main reason; he is tall and has facial features like Jesus. Also, there are a lot of scenes in the movie that are fraught with risks and require hard work. The movie has sequences where there is heavy rain, thunder, lightning and fireballs. Babu doesn’t hesitate while doing such scenes. Both of us trust each other.”
Meanwhile, Babu Antony had wrapped up shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan last year. The movie, which has him playing a king, had him team up with the director after three decades. They last teamed up for Anjali. Babu has also finished shooting for The Great Escape, which also has him sharing screen space with his elder son Arthur. He also has Omar Lulu’s action-entertainer Power Star coming up.
