The Abhishek Kapoor directorial also stars Vaani Kapoor in the lead
As an actor, Ayushmann Khurrana has never been one to shy away from a challenge. Bollywood’s leading man has had his fair share of unconventional films, but the star believes his latest film Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is by far the riskiest.
In conversation with IANS, Khurrana talked about how he had made sure to choose films that served as a way to break stereotypes and taboos. He revealed that he wanted films to start discussions on important issues facing the country and that Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was one such film which he felt proud to be a part of.
The actor also talked in length about how he did not choose films based on how he thought they would perform at the box office, instead focussing on the film’s story and message. Keeping that in mind, he said he considered Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui one of the riskiest projects he had ever said yes to and would also continue to go for risky films in the future as well.
Films which started conversations had the potential to change society for the better, added the star. Some films can do just that while keeping people engaged as well, and the star said he would always go for such films without giving a second’s thought to the repercussions.
