Aisha Ahmed plays the female lead in the show that is about a couple navigating their break up,
Ayush Mehra, who plays the lead character Varun in Minus One: New Chapter, says that he had to cry quite a bit in the show since his character experiences a huge heartbreak. And although he was initially excited about this, he felt oddly exhausted during the shoot.
Speaking about his experience, Ayush said, "Crying was the most tiring part of shooting this project. The break-up scenes would go on for a day and a half, and I had to keep crying and keep going back to that space. We shot for 22-23 days, of which I think I cried fir about 18 days in total."
Ayush added that the shoot was difficult for him emotionally, because after a point, his mind, body, and soul start giving up and he was exhausted, wanting to give up. "I was facing these challenges for the first time. I was pumped about doing these scenes, but I saw myself not wanting to go back to it,” he said.
The actor added that shooting inside a house where all the windows and doors were closed to capture a certain mood was also very difficult for the cast and crew. "Shooting at the house was very difficult because there was no ventilation. It was very hot in the house; we were depicting the winter in the show, while filming it in the Mumbai monsoons. It was really hot!" shared Ayush.
More often than not, love can have multiple layers to it, especially modern love. Breaking free from the expectations of a ‘traditional’ relationship, Minus One: New Chapter delves into the lives of Varun and Ria as they navigate their break up. Aisha Ahmed essays the character of Ria in the show.
Created by Sidhantha Mathur and Shubham Yogi, Minus One: New Chapter will release on Lionsgate Play on February 14.
