Directed by Manohar Kampalli, Matinee is suspense thriller with elements of romance.
Earlier today, Sathish Ninasam posted a picture of him with Rachita Ram on social media to announce that the duo had resumed shooting for their film. Sathish and Rachita are currently shooting for the fourth schedule of their second film together, Matinee. They had earlier collaborated on director S Mahesh Kumar’s directorial debut Ayogya, which was very well received at the box office, while their pairing was also widely appreciated. The duo is hopeful of recreating that magic with their next too.
According to reports, Matinee, directed by Manohar Kampalli, is a suspense thriller with elements of romance. The first look poster of the film had been revealed way back in April last year and featured Sathish and Rachita in an interesting look against the backdrop of what appeared to be a theatre. The film is director Manohar’s debut and is being produced by Parvathi S Gowda. It will have music by Poorna Chandra Tejasvi, while Kranthi Varla is the cinematographer.
While Sathish has already wrapped up work on his Tamil debut, Pagaivanukku Arulvai, and only a couple of songs pending for Petromax, in which he co-stars with Hariprriya, Nagabhushan and Karunya Ram, among others, Rachita is one of the busiest actresses in Kannada cinema today and it is a surprise that they’ve been able to get her dates, given that her Darshan-starrer Kranti is also being shot at breakneck speed.
Rachita, who had her Telugu debut, Super Machi release last week, is currently sitting tight with a host of interesting films including Kranti, Shabari- Searching for Ravana, Bad Manners, Garadi, Lily, Monsoon Raga and Ek Love Ya, among others. While she was most recently seen in the Kannada film Love You Rachchu, Ek Love Ya was meant to be her next with a January 21 release date, but it has been pushed ahead owing to the current Omicron wave of the pandemic.
