For dance lovers, it’s a dream combination to have Manju Warrier shake a leg to Prabhu Deva’s choreography. From the first video of the track Kannilu Kannilu from Ayisha, it’s clear that the dance sequence has lived up to expectations and more.

The makers released the video of the track, which had already become popular since its lyric video was unveiled online. The song, which was shot in Ras Al Khaimah a few months ago, was canned over a period of four day with about 200 artistes.

The peppy track is composed by music director M Jayachandran, penned by BK Harinarayanan and rendered by Ahi Ajayan. The lyric video, which has crossed over 24 lakh views since its release, also featured BTS moments during the shoot of the peppy and upbeat song that features background vocals from Arab artistes too.

Scripted by Aashif Kakkodi, the movie is helmed by debutant Aamir Pallikkal. Ayisha is an Indo-Arab movie that has Manju, Radhika, Krishna Sankar and Mona along with actors from Tunisia, UAE, Philippines, Nigeria, Syria and Yemen. The movie is produced by Sudani from Nigeria director Zakariya under his banner Cross Border Cinema.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the film’s director Aamir told us, “Ayisha is a family movie with fun and entertaining elements. It’s also probably the first commercial Malayalam film to have an Indo-Arab backdrop and be released in Malayalam and Arabic.”

The team is yet to reveal the release date of Ayisha. Manju Warrier, whose previous release was the Santosh Sivan directorial Jack N’ Jill, has also completed shooting for Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s Kayattam and Vellari Pattanam, which also has Soubin Shahir in the lead. The latter is expected to be her next release.

The lady superstar is currently filming for Ajith-starrer Thunivu in Tamil. The film will mark her second Tamil movie after the much-acclaimed Asuran, which had Dhanush in the lead. In Malayalam, she also has Dhyan Sreenivasan-scripted action-thriller 8MM that is set to go on floors by the end of this year.
