Sweta plays the character of Sohini’s friend in Kaushik Ganguly’s film
Ever since Ayan Sil got arrested by the ED officials, his association with his model friend Sweta Chakraborty is in news. In fact, his association with Tollywood is also in news. As per reports, Sweta tried her luck in the modeling world before Ayan decided to produce a film and give her a break in the entertainment industry.
Earlier, Sweta worked in some Hindi and Bengali short films. But this controversial actress’ big break took place in Kaushik Ganguly’s Kabadi Kabadi – a film that is produced by Ayan. In the film, her character is the friend of the protagonist, played by Sohini Sarkar. How was she on the set? How was Sohini's experience?
Sohini was stunned hearing the news of Ayan’s arrest. She said, “He was missing for a long time. The dubbing is unfinished. We worked during the Covid in 2021. Ayan’s office was closed. Oh my god!”
Sohini said that she shared the makeup van with Sweta during the shooting in Bolpur. “She played my friend. She caught a cold during Covid. We talked about this. Just like two ordinary people talking, without any attitude, as is done generally. But I did not ask her anything like how she came to act. We worked together on two or three scenes. Then we came back to our hotel.”
Sohini regrets that such a good film got stopped for lack of money needed for dubbing and editing. She said, “It is clear that there is dishonesty and lack of transparency in this. But what can we say anymore now?”
Ritwik Chakraborty also worked in that film. He said that he joined the project after getting an offer from Koushik Ganguly. He did not know Ayan Sil previously. He saw him on the set maybe a couple of times and had some minor talks. However, Ritwick clearly mentioned that it is not possible for an actor to trace the source of the money of producers. Ritwik said that he did not get the full payment as the dubbing was due. Many technicians’ payment is also due.
