The second week of Brahmastra's box office run seems to have yielded extraordinary results for the makers as the film achieves a new big feat. According to the latest trade reports, by virtue of the box office collections, Brahmastra is the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2022 and has done so by beating The Kashmir Files in the pursuit.
Yes, the same trade reports reveal that Brahmastra's global gross figures have surpassed The Kashmir Files' lifetime collections of Rs. 341 crores (worldwide), and the film is now well on course to reap greater rewards. Although Vivek Agnihotri's film will still retain the status of being the bigger box office blockbuster because of the much smaller budget it was made on, Brahmastra is nevertheless the highest-grosser to date in the year 2022.

Despite the mixed reviews, Brahmastra's theatrical run has seen a steady improvement over the past 10 days with the second weekend, in particular, proving to be a mighty lucrative one. Just when it looked like the film would succumb to other pressures, the second Friday (September 16) showing a vast improvement compared to the previous few days the following Saturday and Sunday galvanizing this further. According to the same trade reports, the 10-day net collection of Brahmastra is around Rs. 216 crores and the gross collections are approx. Rs. 255 crores at the domestic box office with the global figures ranging close to Rs. 350 crores (gross, all languages).
Brahmastra also owns the status of being the first Hindi film post-Covid to cross $10 million in the overseas market. The film, reportedly, is the first Indian film to be on Disney's global theatrical release slate.
However, with Brahmastra somewhat reviving the hopes of the Hindi Film Industry following a stiff period of lull, one can expect upcoming releases like Vikram Vedha, Ram Setu, and Kisi ka Bhai Kisi ki Jaan (starring Salman Khan) to put up a good show at the box office. It has now become apparent that audience reviews, especially, are paramount to a film's success and while the 'Boycott' culture still looms large, one can expect good quality content to thrive nevertheless.
