The team of Ayalaan announced a few months ago that the film will hit the screens for Deepavali this year. The movie was supposed to have a clash with Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X for the festival in November.

However, the makers have now come up with an update informing fans about their change in plans. The ambitious project helmed by R Ravikumar will be released only for the Pongal festival in January 2024. It will be released in both Tamil and Telugu. Siva's previous outing, Maaveeran, too, had a simultaneous release in the two languages.
