Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to be scrapped? Writer Jeff Loveness confirms Marvel is moving away from Kang
The chaos at the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just getting intensified, with no scope for fading at the moment. While The Marvels has failed to create any dent with its opening , and has mixed reviews from the audience and critics, there is also a Jonathan Majors controversy haunting the studio every day. There has been a whole lot of debate and speculation around one movie that has Majors as the titular character, and that is Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The most significant update about it today is that it might get scrapped.
Ever since Majors got accused of harassment, everyone has been wanting to know how the studio would react to the news and what actions they will take if he is proven guilty. The court proceedings so far have not been in the favour of Jonathan, and that has probably made Marvel Studios smell the tea. Jeff Loveness, known for Ant-Man And The Wasp Quantumania , was hired to shape the script of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Turns out, now Jeff Loveness has confirmed that he is not associated with the film and to Marvel at this point. He confirmed that he was too wrapped up in the Kang storyline and that Marvel is moving away from it. Does this mean Avengers: The Kang Dynasty might get scrapped altogether? Well, the possibility is very high.
Jeff was on the House Of R podcast, where he spoke to Joanna Robinson, whereas per Direct, he spoke about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Talking about the exit, Robinson said, “I got it confirmed to me that [Jeff Loveness] was no longer working for Marvel [Studios], and then I asked the person why. And they said that the reason why is that he was all wrapped up in this Kang storyline and they are likely moving away from that.”
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was scheduled for a May 1, 2026 release. However, fans across the globe now want the studio to shift focus to a new villain and the majority of them want to see Doctor Doom. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
