The Suni directorial, produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah, has a digital partner in place and should start streaming in a month’s time
Avatara Purusha – part 1, the first instalment in director Suni’s two-part tale released in theatres today. The film, a fantasy comedy thriller, starring Sharan in the lead, has its digital partner in place. The film credits Amazon Prime Video as the streaming partner and it is rumoured that the film will be available four weeks after its theatrical release date.
There’s been no official confirmation on the streaming date, but the practice in recent times has been an on or before 30 days from theatrical release, or in case of bigger movies, up to 60 days. Avatara Purusha is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video within a month.
Produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah for his banner, Pushkar Films, Avatara Purusha is a two-part film, the first of which stars Sharan, Ashika Ranganth, Saikumar, Bhavya, Sudharani, B Suresha, Balaji Manohar, Ashutosh Rana, Srinagara Kitty and Vijay Chendoor, among others. The film has cinematography by William David and music by Arjun Janya.
The film revolves around the missing heir of the Jois family – Rama and Susheela – Karna. The young lad goes missing while on a trip with his aunt and is never found, although the family remains hopeful of his return. The child’s loss had created a rift between Rama and his sister Yashoda, under whose care Karna went missing. Yashoda’s daughter Siri then attempts to mend this bond by bringing a junior cine artiste, Anila to pretend to be their long-lost son. Whether she succeeds in this mission is only one part of the narrative, with the Jois family’s connect to magic and witchcraft forming the other.
In earlier conversations, the team had said they were looking at releasing Avatara Purusha part 2 within three months of the first, but had not officially confirmed this. According to lead actor Sharan, although the attempt is to bring the film to theatres as soon as possible, they are yet to complete it. Also, the film will require a lot of time in post-production for the CGI.
