Director Suni and actor Sharan disclosed this during an Instagram live earlier today
Avatara Purusha part 1 Ashtadigbandhana Mandalaka released in theatres on May 6 and the film opened to good reviews, prompting audiences across board to wonder when the team will bring part 2, Trishanku, to theatres. In earlier interactions with the media, the team had said that the plan was to bring out the second part as soon as possible and had hinted at a three-month gap. “
Today, however, Suni said that it would take a bit longer, but that it would come out later this year, for sure. “We are targeting a Dasara release for part 2, ideally Vijayadashami. This is a film that is high on computer graphics, which will take time,” said Suni, during an Instagram live session with lead actor Sharan, who added, “We still need to complete around 25% of the film and are looking at winding it up as soon as possible.”
Produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah for his banner Pushkar Films, Avatara Purusha follows the story of the Jois family and their connect to black magic and witchcraft. Part 1 is about Ram Jois (Saikumar) and his wife Susheela (Bhavya), whose son Karna goes missing as a young boy. Years later, Ram’s sister Yashoda’s (Sudharani) daughter Siri (Ashika Ranganath) decides to ‘create’ a family reunion by bringing a junior cine artiste, Anila (Sharan) to pretend to be their long-lost son Karna. Is Anila really Karna, or does he have an ulterior motive in coming to the Jois family? The house is, after all, where Ram’s father Brahma Jois (Ayyappa P Sharma) had hidden the Trishanku mani that will give the owner the power of the Trishanku heaven. This bit of the story is what will be explored in part 2.
Avatara Purusha, which has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by William David, also stars Srinagara Kitty, B Suresha, Vijay Chendoor, Balaji Manohar and Ashutosh Rana, among others.
