Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan was nominated in the Best International Feature category at the Astra Film Awards along with several highly acclaimed foreign films.
Filmmaker Atlee continues to bask in the worldwide popularity of his previous movie Jawan, starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Recently, he attended the 7th Astra Film Awards in the USA along with his wife Priya. Atlee was one of the nominees at the event.
Jawan was nominated in the Best International Feature cartogram at the award along with several highly acclaimed foreign films, including, Concrete Utopia (South Korea), Fallen Leaves (Finland), Perfect Days (Japan), The Zone of Interest (United Kingdom) name a few. The Palme d'Or winner Anatomy of a Fall, which is a French legal drama directed by Justine Triet, won the award.
Despite not winning, Atlee relished the spotlight he received from the American media and fans of his film. He recently tweeted a short clip, showcasing how he embraced his growing popularity worldwide with confidence and style. "Thank you Astra awards 2024 For Jawan Thank you @iamsrk sir @gaurikhan Mam @RedChilliesEnt ,my team and @priyaatlee," he tweeted.

Atlee is a household name among cinema patrons in South India he became a force to reckon with at the pan-Indian box office following the tremendous success of Jawan. It became Atlee's first movie to breach the Rs 1000 crore mark at the box office and added to Shah Rukh Khan's success streak.
In a nutshell, Jawan is a vigilante action drama. A falsely discouraged Indian soldier and honest police officer, who also happens to be father and son, join forces to bring down the megalomanic and save the country from an evil corporation.
Jawan saw Shah Rukh Khan boast two different looks and massively clicked with the mass audiences. Not only in the Hinid-speaking markets, the film also performed well in South Indian states and various foreign territories. So much so that Atlee revealed that he was approached by a few Hollywood filmmakers expressing interest in collaborating with him. "Someone from Hollywood can also do part in it," Atlee said while talking about his next project.
Jawan is now streaming on Netflix.
