Atlanta Season 3, starring Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, to release on FX in March 2021

The highly-anticipated third season of FX series Atlanta will hit the network in spring next year. The first two episodes will premiere on March 24, 2021.

An eerie teaser trailer, set to Sun Ra’s song 'It’s After the End of the World' was released earlier this year on Halloween featuring Brian Tyree Henry as Paper Boi.

The synopsis of the upcoming season (via Variety) is: "Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Season 3 finds Earn (Donald Glover), Alfred / Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to."

Variety notes that the third and fourth seasons of Atlanta were written and shot together. While one will take place in the US, the other will take the characters of the show all the way to Europe. Due to pandemic-related restrictions, the shoot and consequently the release date of the show were affected, which is why it will now be out next year.

Glover, Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Stefani Robinson, Paul Simms and Dianne McGunigle are the executive producers onboard.
