Disney+ Hotstar, which tasted immense success with its show Dayaa this month, is gearing up for the digital premiere of an exciting project. Their next Telugu release is Athidhi, whose first poster was unveiled on Monday. “Not all GUESTS are welcome! Stay tuned for an exciting new series #ATHIDHI! #AthidhiOnHotstar coming soon…Only on #DisneyPlusHotstar,” the leading streamer shared the news.

Athidhi marks the debut of Venu Thottempudi into the OTT space. The first poster has a bruised Venu looking through a hole in an undisclosed location. With the premise and the look, the show is expected to be high on thrills and drama. The web show, directed by Bharat YG, is slated to release in the second half of September, comprises an exciting lineup.

The showrunner is Praveen Sattaru, whose action thriller Gandeevadhari Arjuna starring Varun Tej releases in theatres this weekend. Manojh Reddy cranks the camera for the same and Dharmendra Kakarla is the editor. Other details about the project will be shared shortly. Praveen has already made his OTT debut on aha with the Tamannaah starrer 11th Hour, based on a book titled 8 Hours written by Upendra Namburi.

Venu Thottempudi, meanwhile, made his comeback to films after a long sabbatical with Ravi Teja’s Ramarao on Duty last year, where he played a corrupt cop (now streaming on Sony LIV). He is also associated with another film produced by Chai Bisket Films, the makers behind films like Writer Padmabhushan, Mem Famous and the yet-to-be-released Boys Hostel.

Praveen Sattaru is simultaneously shooting another web show for ZEE5, Mission Tashafi, touted to be one of the streaming platform’s most expensive projects, starring Thiruveer, Simran Chaudhary, Anish Kuruvilla, Ravi Varma and others. The promotional campaign of Athidhi will kickstart soon - given the credentials of the cast and crew, one expects quality entertainment from the show.
