Athidhi OTT release date out! Teaser of Venu Thottempudi’s show launched

Praveen Sattaru is the showrunner for the web series directed by YG Bharath

Venu Thottempudi, who made a promising comeback with a pivotal role in Ramarao on Duty, is gearing up to begin his digital medium stint on a positive note as well. His next release is a web show titled Athidhi, to stream on Disney+ Hotstar. YG Bharath is directing the project for which Gandeevadhari Arjuna filmmaker Praveen Sattaru is the showrunner.

Maya fame Avantika Mishra, Neninthe actress Aditi Gautam play the female leads in the thriller whose teaser was launched today. On a rainy night, a woman asks Venu if she could stay in the mansion till the next morning, to which the latter agrees. The two are attracted to one another but the glimpse suggest that the place is haunted by another woman. Where’s the story headed?

Athidhi will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on September 19, Tuesday after the Vinayaka Chavithi weekend. “A man, a mansion, a spooky night and a beautiful stranger at the door. What could possibly go wrong? #HotstarSpecials #Athidhi - streaming from 19th September. only on #DisneyPlusHotstar. #AthidhiOnHotstar,” the streamer wrote, confirming the news.

Venkatesh Kakumanu, Ravi Varma, Bhadram, Chanakya Tejas, Gayatri Chaganti, Pooja Reddy Bora play other supporting roles in the show. Manojh Reddy cranks the camera for the same while the team also comprises production designer Sahi Suresh, editor Dharmendra Kakarala. Priyanka Arik Doraswamy (stylist), Dasari Rajesh (executive producer), Pramesh Dev (choreographer), Kapi Kumar and Rajeev Rama are part of the crew as well.

YG Bharath, the director of the show, has worked as an associate for several films in the industry - namely Katamarayudu, Kavacham and FCUK (Father Chitti Umaa Kaarthik). Disney+ Hotstar’s last Telugu release was the smash hit Dayaa, a crime thriller show, directed by Pavan Sadineni, starring JD Chakravarthy, Eesha Rebba, Ramya Nambessan, Kamal Kamaraju, Josh Ravi and others.
