At Jawan pre-release event, here's how Atlee paid tribute to Chandrayaan-3 mission

Director Atlee is all excited about his dream Bollywood debut Jawan, which stars superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Following the tradition of the Tamil film industry to host grand audio release events before a film's theatrical release, Atlee held a pre-release celebration for Jawan in Chennai.
The event took place at the packed auditorium of Chennai's Sri Sai Ram Engineering College. Typically, the filmmakers usually pick an indoor stadium to host such big events. However, Atlee had another motive when he picked this college for the event. "Chandrayaan-3 project director P Veeramuthuvel studied in this college. That's the reason I wanted to organise this event here," he revealed, suggesting that it was his way of paying tribute to the bright minds behind India's latest successful lunar mission.

When Shah Rukh Khan opened his home to Atlee
The auditorium came alive with great fervour as fans gave a grand welcome to Shah Rukh Khan. While speaking at the event, SRK revealed that he had never attended a film event like this before.
And Atlee also had a few personal anecdotes to share with the members of the audience at the event. He recalled the time when he took a picture outside SRK's world-famous house, Mannat, in Mumbai. "And years later, the gates of Mannat opened for me and Shah Rukh Khan sir came outside to welcome me into his home," he recalled while reflecting on his inspiring journey in the film industry.
Atlee, forever, a Thalapathy Vijay fan
Atlee also thanked Thalapathy Vijay at the event. He acknowledged the pivotal role Vijay played in establishing him as a director to reckon with in the Indian film industry. "Vijay anna was the one who motivated me to step out of my comfort zone," he revealed.
Atlee also thanked Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, who are also the producers of Jawan, for taking such a huge production and keeping their full faith in him.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The movie is due in cinemas on September 7.
