Avatara Purusha, Sharan’s much-anticipated collaboration with director Suni is all set to release on May 6, or at least the first in the two-part instalment. The film, according to Sharan, will be high on comedy, as is expected of his movies, but it will also have a trademark Suni stamp on it as far as the laughs are concerned.

But the most exciting part, says the actor, is that Suni’s story has an unexpected twist, which is novel for both of them. “For a while, I have been thinking of attempting something different as far as cinema and roles go, and with Avatara Purusha, it is as if Suni read my mind. I am sure that audiences will like this element in the narrative. In fact, my confidence has been boosted multi-fold, after producer Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah showed the film to a select section of technicians and his friends, all of who praised it immensely. In fact, those who went in expecting a typical Sharan film said that they got to experience that as well as another movie altogether. Like two rolled into one,” said Sharan.

One of the major talking points of Avatara Purusha is the Black Magic story arc, which, the film team believes has not been touched upon in Kannada cinema for a while. “The question about how black magic has been addressed and whether it is part of the film’s lighter moments or more serious ones is something that audiences will have to wait and watch in the theatre. Suni has explored it so beautifully that it has to be experienced in the movie halls,” adds Sharan.

Avatara Purusha has Sharan playing a junior cine artiste, who is called in to pretend to be a family’s long-lost son. The film also stars Ashika Ranganath, Sai Kumar, Srinagara Kitty, etc. in pivotal roles.
