Speaking at the Eagle success meet, Harish Shankar mentioned being affected by a gossip column claiming that he was drowning in alcohol due to the delay in completing his film with Pawan Kalyan.
Telugu filmmaker Harish Shankar expressed his displeasure with a section of the Telugu media, accusing them of engaging in unfair attacks against the Telugu film industry. Speaking at the success meet of Eagle, starring Ravi Teja in the lead , Harish criticized the reviews that rated the film poorly.
"During the shoot, I saw a tweet. I had not watched the film yet. And that tweet said they could have done a better job with a love story. I was confused; why would someone expect a love story from this movie? You see a hero sporting a thick beard and using big guns and still expect to watch a love story. I am not able to comprehend this logic," he said.
Harish emphasized that the media should be more considerate of filmmakers, praising director Karthik Gattamneni for putting his thriving career as a cinematographer on hold to pursue his directorial ambitions. "Instead of being satisfied with the success as a cinematographer, he has stepped out of his comfort zone to become a director and has made such a wonderful film," he commented.
He stressed that the media is an essential pillar of the film industry, alongside film directors, producers, and actors. "We are all on the same team. There is no point in throwing stones at each other. Film journalists are part of the industry; please understand that," he noted.
Harish revealed that he was hurt by criticisms directed at Karthik, who has only directed two films. He suggested that the media should refrain from being overly critical of films, as it could undercut their earning potential. "The difference between criticism and trolling is getting blurred," he claimed.
Expressing his frustration, Harish mentioned being affected by a gossip column claiming that he was drowning in alcohol due to the delay in completing his film with Pawan Kalyan. "How long should we all take this nonsense?" he asked, citing personal attacks on Telugu celebrities in the media.
