Fans of spine-chilling horror films are in for a treat as Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie Asvins is all set to make its digital debut. Starring Vasanth Ravi in the lead role, the film is scheduled to be available for streaming on Netflix starting July 20.
Written and directed by Tarun Teja, Asvins features an ensemble cast including Vimala Raman, Muralidaran, Saraswathi Menon, Udhaya Deep, and Simran Pareek. The film weaves a tale of mystery and terror, promising to deliver a gripping cinematic experience.

Judging from the trailer, Asvins is a psychological thriller that revolves around "black tourism." According to the film, tourists with an insatiable hunger for thrill pay money to spend time in places that are trained by tragic incidents. In the movie, a group of tourists ended up at "the most darkest place." And soon all things fall apart as their lives are overtaken by a dark entity. The thrill-seeking tourists end up running in circles as they never seem to get away from the house they are trapped in.

Asvins is based on Tarun Teja's short film of the same name. According to the producers, despite releasing with a lot of fanfare the movie performed well at the box office.
Vasanth Ravi called Asvins an important film in his career. "Asvins is an important film in my career after 'Taramani' and 'Rocky.' When I finished those films, I was contemplating the kind of project I should take up next. Interestingly, I hadn't planned on doing a horror film. However, when Tarun Teja narrated the script to me, I was thoroughly impressed and decided to go ahead with it."
"My only regret is that Tarun and I had hoped the film would receive a U/A certificate, allowing it to reach children who are often consumed by negativity on their cellphones. However, due to the fear factor portrayed in the film, it received an A certificate as it's simply too scary to watch alone," he added.
Vasanth Ravi revealed that Asvins 2 was also in the works.
