Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana have broken up. 

Last evening, in a sad development, Hindi television star Himanshi Khurana – who rose to fame by participating in Bigg Boss Season 13, confirmed her separation with actor Asim Riaz. She separated from him for having non-identical ‘religious beliefs’. Soon after this development, a debate sparked on social media on whether it is essential to marry someone practicing the same religion or not. In the middle of the ongoing heated conversations online, Asim has given a reaction to the developments surrounding his personal life.

Asim Riaz wrote on the microblogging site X this evening, “Yes indeed. We both agreed to sacrifice our love for our respective religious beliefs. We both are 30+ and we have full right to take these mature decisions and we made it. We have decided to part ways amicably, embracing our individual journeys.”

Asim further expressed that he urged Himanshi to be honest about their relationship in the public sphere, so much so that he expected her to mention the exact reason for their breakup. On X, Asim added, “Respect for Himanshi and our diverse path and yes indeed, I told her to write the real reason for our separation. Request you to all to respect our privacy.”

Social media reactions on the couple’s breakup

Taking to microblogging site X, one internet user wrote, “We respect your decision, Asim. Don’t get affected by trolls.”

“I must say that suggestion of adding ‘religion’ was wrong. It was your relationship, your life. You both don’t owe an explanation to anybody. It made the situation murkier. Now, stop getting affected by what people say and have a peaceful life,” wrote another X user.

One more X user said, “Stay strong both of you.”
