The reopening of theatres in Kerala has also resulted in a slew of release date announcements for the forthcoming month of November. While Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup and Suresh Gopi’s Kaaval, which will release on November 12 and November 25, respectively, are the big films, Asif Ali’s Ellam Sheriyakum and Kunchacko Boban’s Bheemante Vazhi are also expected to go head-to-head on November 19.

In an interview with OTTplay, Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) president K Vijayakumar had confirmed that both movies will release the week after Kurup hits theatres.

Ellam Sheriyakum was recently cleared for screening by the Censor Board with a ‘U’ certificate. Its runtime will be 137 minutes. Asif plays a youngster who takes to politics as he’s unemployed. Rajisha plays Ancy, whom Asif’s character brings home in the political entertainer. The movie marks the second time that Rajisha and Asif are collaborating after Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, which fetched the former the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actress.

Meanwhile, Bheemante Vazhi is a light entertainer, directed by Ashraf Hamza. Talking to OTTplay, Ashraf had earlier told us, “Chackochan (Kunchacko Boban) plays a very rooted and real person. Everyone decides their right and wrong. Chackochan’s character travels based on what he thinks is right and wrong, and because of that he might get hurt for various reasons. He portrays realistic emotions in the movie.” The film, which is scripted by Chemban Vinod Jose, also has Chinnu Chandni as a judo trainer. The movie also marks Kunchacko Boban’s third theatrical release this year after Nizhal and Nayattu.
