O2, directed by Prashant Raj and Raghav Nayak, is the last film that the late Puneeth Rajkumar had greenlit for his banner.
The most recent film from PRK Productions was O2, a medical thriller starring Ashika Ranganath, Praveen Tej, Raghav Nayak and Siri Ravikumar, among others. The film, directed by Raghav along with Prashant Raj, was the last one that the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar had okayed for his banner. O2 had Ashika in the role of a doctor for the first time in her career, which, she had said was vastly different from the bubbly, girl-next-door kind of characters she is accustomed to doing.
The film, which released in theatres on April 19 to decent reviews, is now on OTT. As of May 31, O2 has been available on Amazon Prime Video in Kannada with English subtitles. It marks Ashika’s second film in recent times on the platform, following Avatara Purusha 2, which also came out in April.

During the promotions of O2, Ashika had spoken at length about her regret that she did not get to work with Puneeth Rajkumar. She had been approached for a role in director Pawan Kumar’s Dvitva, but Puneeth’s untimely and tragic demise meant that this was not to be. The actress said that she took solace in the fact that she got t collaborate with his banner and that he had personally greenlit the project.
As for the story of O2, well, it follows Ashika as Dr Shraddha, who is leading research into the possibility of reviving clinically dead patients with an experimental treatment involving administration of O2 into the bloodstream within the first few critical minutes and altering the core temperature to make it a viable option. It has worked on mice, but her research will get the funding she desperately requires only after a human trial.
In Kannada, the Suni directed Gathavaibhava is the only pending projet that Ashika has. She is yet to announce a new signing, whereas in Telugu. She was recently named as a cast member of mega star Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara.
