The use of an orange bikini in the Pathaan song Besharam Rang by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has sparked a major controversy. Asha Parekh, a veteran actor, has reacted to it now.
Besharam Rang, the first song from Pathaan was released a few days ago and since then it has caused a big uproar. The usage of an orange bikini in the song, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in ultra-glamorous and seductive costumes, sparked controversy. If the costumes and sequences in the movie are not changed, Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra threatened to prevent Pathaan from being released in the state.
Now veteran actress Asha Parekh has responded to it at this point. Talking to Aaj Tak, Asha Parekh said, "Yeh bahut galat hai, film toh film hai. Jiska mool, maksad entertainment hai. Ab kisi actress ne, orange pehen liya, ya naam kuch aisa ho gaya toh usse ban kar rahe hai? Yeh nahi achha lagta hai (This is very wrong, a film is a film. Which is mostly about entertainment. If an actress wears orange, or the name is different, you start banning it? It doesn't look good)."
She also added, "Bikini per bawaal nahi tha, yahan toh orange rang ki bikini ko lehkar sawaal uth rahe hai. Mujhe lagta hai ki hamara dimaag ab band ho raha hai. Hum bahut hi chhoti soch ke hote ja rahe hai, jo galat hai. Bollywood hamesha ke liye soft target raha hai (It was the orange colour of the bikini that was drawing attention, not the bikini itself. I believe that our brain is currently shutting down. We should not be getting overly narrow-minded. Bollywood is always a soft target)."
Besharam Rang, the first track from Pathaan, was released on December 12. Several peaceful Spanish places have been exquisitely shown in the song. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone lit up the chemistry to another level in the track. Shah Rukh Khan works his magic with just his glances, while Deepika Padukone simply turns up the heat with her flawless dances and her hitherto unseen gorgeous persona.
Pathaan marks the first time that Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham are coming together on screen. The movie is produced by Yash Raj Films with direction by Siddharth Anand. On January 25, 2023, Republic Day weekend, the film will be released with dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions.
