By now, its declared that Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is a certified superhit film of recent times. The film has already surpassed the magical figure of Rs. 100 crores and counting. There were many highlights in the film. Firstly, it was the prolific filmmaker Karan Johar’s return to direction after a gap of many years. Secondly, the film saw the stellar cast of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as the leading pair. The icing on the cake was the presence of veteran actors in the form of Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra.

Amidst all this, even the songs of the film played a vital role in making the film the blockbuster it is, esp, the ‘Jhumka’ track. Speaking of ‘Jhumka gira re’ track, it is a remix of the yesteryear’s hit track by the same name. In a recent interview with India Today, the veteran singer Asha Bhosle (who happens to be the singer of the original track) expressed her opinion over songs being remixed. The veteran singer, while citing ‘Jhumka’ track as an example, said that the song was doing extremely well, and happens to be an old song in a new film. She said that the music directors and the singers don’t have the ability to bring something new and that’s why they were recreating old songs.

While opining about the yesteryear classic tracks, Asha Bhosle said that these songs (the timeless classic songs of yesteryears) have lyrics, singers and music, which was a combination of everything. Besides all this, it was also the team efforts of the actors, cinematographer and everyone involved which makes any track hit track. She explained that it has to be a team effort in order to make a good song.

As for ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, the film had recently registered Rs 3.75 crore on August 15, which happens to be the film’s nineteenth day of release, which brings the film’s total collection to Rs. 137.23 crore, as per a report in India Today.
