Directed by Uday and Suresh, the web film is written and produced by Ravi Babu under his home banner Flying Frogs
Ravi Babu, who has been more occupied with his acting commitments over directorial projects lately, is coming up with a web production. He has written and produced a thriller for Eenadu group’s OTT platform ETV Win titled Asalu. The web film is directed by his associates Uday and Suresh. Besides writing and backing it, he essayed a crucial role in the direct-to-OTT release as well.
Produced under Flying Frogs, Asalu is headlined by Purnaa, with whom Ravi Babu had collaborated for a flurry of projects including Avunu, Avunu 2, Aaviri, Adhugo, to name a few. Asalu is an investigative thriller whose cast also includes Surya and Satya Krishnan. The film is gearing up for a worldwide digital premiere on April 13 on ETV Win. The trailer takes off with the murder of a professor named Chakravarthy in an independent house. Ravi Babu plays an investigative cop who is out to find the culprit and look at the case from several dimensions. The officer has four suspects to deal with, and every time, he feels he’s come closer to finding answers, there’s a new twist to the tale.
Purna’s role has been kept under wraps in the trailer. However, it’s evident that she’ll be of some use for the officer to nab the murderer. Cashing in on the popularity for thrillers, Asalu is in tune with times and piques your interest. The glimpse suggests that the film was made on a shoestring budget. Thrillers are Ravi Babu’s forte and it’ll be interesting to see how he fares this time.
