Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, the second and final instalment of director Hemanth M Rao’s ‘intense love story’ is finally out on OTT. Social media is abuzz with comments about the Rakshit Shetty starrer, mainly from fans who’d seen it in theatres doing a repeat watch. Those are all full of glowing praise, but there are also some comments from audiences who’d been waiting for Side B to drop on OTT and that’s not all rosy. Now that they’ve seen how Hemanth M Rao has ended the story of Manu and Priya (Rukmini Vasanth), not everyone’s sold on how it played out.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B review: Rakshit Shetty's film treads dark but predictable waters

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B picks up 10 years after the events of Side A, with Manu having completed his jail sentence in the fatal hit-and-run case he’d taken the blame for. Priya’s been married and has a young son, but her life is far from what Manu had envisioned for her. She’s like a ghost of her former self and has, literally, lost her voice – as in, she doesn’t sing anymore, which was the bright spot in her life. How Manu goes about setting her life right in the way he thinks it should be is what Side B is all about.

To get to his goal, Manu enlists the help of Surabhi (Chaithra J Achar), and his former jail mate Prakash (Gopalkrishna Deshpande). The film also stars JP Thumminad and Ramesh Indira in pivotal roles. Music is by Charanraj and just as good as in Side A, while Advaitha Gurumurthy is the cinematographer.

Released in theatres on November 17, after a couple of delays, the film was expected to find its way on to a streaming partner within a month, pretty much like Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A. Prime Video would be the destination, considering that Side A was already there, but leading man Rakshit, who has also produced the film, had said prior to the theatrical outing of Side B that the streaming rights were still up for grabs. This led to speculation that he could be considering a deal with Zee Network, which had picked the satellite rights.

But then, a few days ago, Rakshit set the record straight and announced that Side B would be on Prime Video after all. A date, he said, would be alerted at a later stage. That, of course, did not happen, and Sapta Sagaradaache Ello dropped on the platform all of a sudden on January 25 in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
