Kapil Sharma is set to reunite with Sunil Grover for his upcoming show on Netflix.
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover
For years, the controversial fight between Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma has been a topic of discussion. Even though the duo has been in the spotlight a lot, it all began when Sunil Grover left Kapil's Comedy Nights With Kapil show.
Sunil Grover's first exit from the comedy show
For those who don't know, Grover left Sharma's show for the first time in 2014. According to reports, Sunil asked for a raise for his role as Gutthi because he was receiving more and more recognition. However, this did not sit well with Kapil or the show's producers. These, however, were merely speculative reports about the matter.
Post this, Kapil Sharma told TOI, "All I can say is, he (Sunil) should have never left our show. We were all part of the success of our show. Sunil has been around, trying to find his bearings in the entertainment industry. He's my senior. I've got the highest regard for his talents. And I am not the kind to feel threatened or competitive with anyone. In fact, I go out of my way to ensure that every member of my team has a chance to take the stage, so I can relax. Sunil must have been provoked into leaving by people around him."

However, Sunil Grover made a successful comeback to the show with a brand new character.
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover's controversial fight
But all was not okay, even after this. The 'major' fight took place later in an aeroplane. Kapil and Sunil were returning after wrapping up a show in Australia. The two got into a fight midair, during which a very drunk Kapil allegedly assaulted Sunil. According to reports, a drunken Kapil began cursing at Chandan Prabhakar, a fellow team member on the show. When Sunil tried to step in, Kapil became even more irate, which ultimately led to a disastrous outcome.
During the 2017 trailer launch for Kapil Sharma's film 'Firangi,' he talked extensively about his fight with Sunil. Sharma acknowledged that the show in Australia was putting a lot of stress on him, and the passing of a Firangi fellow actor added to his stress.
“Sunil was quite worried seeing me in that state. Sunil and I have known each other for the last nine years and have worked together for the last five years. I don’t have any complaints for Sunil, but if I were Sunil, I would have tried to understand what was going wrong with a friend, as he had not seen me like this in the last five years. But I have no complaints; he is a great performer and a greater friend,” Kapil said.
And at last, the fight is over! Together, well-known actors and comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover are putting on a hilarious Netflix special. The two were spotted with their original group, which included Archana Puran Singh and fan favourites Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur, in a trailer that the streaming giant posted on X. The comedians will be returning, but in a new format, to make us laugh out loud once again. After six years of rivalry, Kapil and Sunil have reconciled and reunited for the upcoming show.
