Director Arunraja Kamaraj's web series Label dropped on Disney + Hotstar on November 10. The ten-episode series stars Jai, Tanya Hope, Mahendran, Harishankar Narayanan, Subatra Robert and Suresh Chakravarthy.

Label set in north Chennai
The series is set in north Chennai, which has been the backdrop of a majority of Tamil movies in the last two decades. There have been many negative connotations about the locality, and people from north Chennai have even found it difficult to get jobs as they have been labelled as problematic people.

Label on OTT: What to expect from Arunraja Kamaraj's upcoming legal drama?

Watch Gadar 2 on OTTplay by subscribing to the Jhakaas pack which provides access to 16 OTTs at just Rs 199/month."What you see in the trailer is what Label is about," says director Arunraja Kamaraj. "Sometimes people are labelled as something because they come from a particular place, but that's not apt. Label is my third project, and I have been learning something new in every subject. I am glad that the entire team trusted me with the project and that sort of instilled huge responsibility in me. I was scared inside but put up a brave face on the set. Many from the cast and crew came with a lot of experience."

Jai's web series debut
Jai will be seen as lawyer Prabhakaran in the series who fights for the marginalised people hailing from the locality. " When we were looking for a person to play Prabhakaran, Jai was the universal choice. His look, Chennai slang and mannerisms, all worked. The story is about a person from the locality who overcomes the troubles, uses education to climb up the ladder and fight for his people. Having worked with Vettai Mannan earlier, it was exciting to team up again."

Talking about a scene where Jai's professionalism came into the fore, Arunraja said, "Jai is a professional racer. There is a scene where he witnesses something he shouldn't see while riding his bike. So, he suggested that he skidded and fell down, because someone who is in a state of shock would not have the time to park the bike and witness the scene. "
