Article 370 box office collection day 3 - Yami Gautam's political drama scores big, mints ₹9.5 crore on its first Sunday

Article 370 starring Yami Gautam, Priyamani, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar has clearly outshined Vidyut Jammwal and Arjun Rampal's Crakk at the box office.

Starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the lead roles, Article 370 was released on February 23, alongside Vidyut Jamwal’s action thriller film Crakk on Friday. The film has been doing well at the ticket window and has been receiving praise for its compelling storyline. On its Day 3, the political drama minted big. As reported by Sacnilk.com, the film has earned ₹9.5 crore on its first Sunday.

The political-action drama, which has been directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale debuted with an impressive ₹5 crore on Day 1 and collected over ₹7 crore on its second day. Article 370 has now earned nearly ₹23 crore in India since its release.

The Day 3 occupancy of the film was 33.79 percent overall, with its night shows accounting for a significant portion of this. Yami Gautam's powerful performance and positive word of mouth for the film are now portrayed by the film's strong opening weekend collection.

Article 370 Vs Crakk at the box office

Yami Gautam's film opened at the box office by locking horns with Crakk, an action film starring Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal, Nora Fatehi, and Amy Jackson. However, with the successful weekend collection, the movie has decisively outperformed Crakk.

What is Article 370 about?

Starring Yami Gautam, Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in lead roles, the film is based on corruption and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Gautam plays the role of an intelligence officer, who becomes instrumental in combating terrorism and corruption in the region. The movie showcases how radicals try to take over the area and how terrorism has started to spread throughout the region.

After joining the NIA, Yami's character is given unrestricted freedom to complete a task in Kashmir. Additionally, the government has pledged to do away with Article 370 at all costs.

On August 5, 2019, the Central government divided the former state of Jammu and Kashmir into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, rescinding Article 370, which granted the former state unique status.
