The first day collection of Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 stands at a decent Rs 5.75 crore, which only means that it has overtaken Vidyut Jamwal's 'Crakk'

This week saw the release of two films of varied genres. The first film was Vidyut Jamwal's actioner 'Crakk' and the second film was the Yami Gautam hard hitting Article 370. Despite the films being of different genres, it did have the cinegoers queuing up for tickets to watch them. While the first day collections of the Vidyut Jamwal's 'Crakk' stands at Rs. 4 crores (India net), the Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 went onto pocket Rs. 5. 75 crores. This only means that the Yami Gautam film has taken a comparative lead at the box office against Vidyut Jamwal's 'Crakk'.

Hard-hitting plot of Aditya Jambhale directed Article 370

As for the Yami Gautam starrer Article 370, it’s an extremely hard-hitting film that mirrors the various obstacles and difficulties that was faced while abolishing Article 370 from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The movie has been directed by Aditya Jambhale and has been produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Lokesh Dhar and Aditya Dhar (who also happens to be Yami’s husband).

Factors that works in the film's favour!

There are many factors which seem to have worked in the favour of the film. Firstly, it was the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s acknowledgment of the film 'Article 370' for it providing accurate information to the public. Secondly, many cinegoers were eagerly awaiting to see Yami Gautam back on the silver screen, after her last films OMG 2 and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. Besides all this, the ‘Buy movie tickets for Rs 99’ offer on account of Cinema Lovers Day, also seems to have contributed to the film.

Just like Vidyut Jammwal's 'Crakk', even for Yami Gautam starrer Article 370, the real test of the box office will be clear during the weekend. It is, however, a bit difficult to predict as to which film will score over the other in the long run.

As for the film Article 370, besides Yami Gautam, it also stars a host of powerful actors like Priyamani, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, Kiran Karmarkar and others. As for the film’s release on the OTT platform, it has been learnt that it will be streamed on JioCinema, once the movie concludes its theatrical run. The official announcement of the same, however, is being awaited.
