Directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, the movie is a prequel to Zack Snyder's zombie heist thriller Army of the Dead
Zack Snyder has done it again. The filmmakers latest movie, Army of Thieves directed by Matthias Schweighöfer has gone straight to #1 on Netflix after just two days of release.
The comedy heist movie sees Matthias Schweighöfer reprise his role as Ludwig Dieter, the safecracking specialist from Snyder’s Army of the Dead.
Snyder has taken to Twitter to share the news with the world. Posting a picture featuring the stars of the movie, it is written “#1 movie in over 90+ countries”
Army of Thieves in #1 in the "Top 10 in the U.S. Today" category. The movie beat You which is now at #2 and Squid Game which is now #3.
In India however, at the time of writing, the movie is #2, with Squid Game sitting in the top spot and Call My Agent: Bollywood at third.
Army of Thieves though it is set in the same universe as Army of the Dead does not have any undead zombies to show. The movie however, does foreshadow Dieter's ill-fated job in Las Vegas.
Snyder’s Army of the Dead also achieved a similar feat, with the movie taking the #1 spot in many countries after just a few days since its release.
