The actor will reunite with his Ek Villain Returns co-star John Abraham in this Hindi remake of the Malayalam film.
For the past few days, reports have been making the rounds that Abhishek Bachchan has backed out from the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Now, as per the latest reports, Arjun Kapoor has been roped in as Abhishek’s replacement in the film. The movie will be helmed by Jagan Shakti of Mission Mangal fame and will also feature John Abraham in the lead, where he will lock horns with Arjun. The film will commence shooting by November.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that John and Arjun are presently shooting for Ek Villain Returns and both of them have created a beautiful bond on the sets. John will be seen essaying the role of Biju Menon from the original movie and Arjun will handle the role of Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Both John and Arjun will be seen playing the antagonist in the movie Ek Villain 2 and both of them will be seen battling against each other. Similarly, both of them will play egoistic characters in the upcoming remake, fighting against one another with multiple confrontational scenes. But it seems their character traits will be completely different and one might be surprised with their chemistry on screen, the source said.
John is currently invested in upcoming projects such as Pathan, Attack and Satyameva Jayate 2. Arjun on the other hand is currently working on Bhoot Police of which, the trailer has been released and got mixed reactions from the netizens. He is also working in Ajay Bahl’s next movie which will go on floors very soon and Kuttey. The actor will also star in Boney Kapoor’s upcoming productions in the official remakes of F2- Fun and Frustration and Comali.
