Ek Villain Returns actor Arjun Kapoor became the centre of many people's wrath after a piece of news made its way to the common men.
Arjun Kapoor is among those actors who has often been trolled for being a nepo kid. Ever since the nepotism debate began, Arjun was among one of the targets. He started being trolled especially after Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise, since news of him and Shraddha Kapoor (actor Shakti Kapoor’s daughter) replacing Sushant and Kriti Sanon in Half Girlfriend started doing the rounds. Sushant and Kriti had gone on to work in Raabta eventually.
Arjun is currently tasting success after Ek Villain Returns has become a Box Office hit. His character is that of a ‘bighde hue baap ki aulaad’ which is what social media considers him.
The actor defends himself stating that he is well-aware about his status but has never used it to his advantage (per say). He was also never worried about not doing the film out of the fear of being trolled again, since according to him, trolling is not relevant to Box Office business.
Talking to News 18, Arjun shared that he never felt like not taking up the role in fear of being trolled again for being his father (producer Boney Kapoor)’s son. He called nepotism a ‘media-made thing’ and added that the fact that the film is doing business explains that ‘the word used over months’ is created at a very low level on Instagram and used for clickbait.
“The fact that I have to worry about something that is not a serious issue,” Arjun stated, implying that he doesn’t believe nepotism is a serious issue. “The fact that the film has done business proves that trolling is not relevant to Box Office business,” he added.
Ek Villain Returns also sees John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The movie is the second installment of Mohit Suri’s film with Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor.
