Malaika Arora lost her father Anil Mehta earlier this year. During this difficult phase, Arjun Kapoor stood by his ex-partner's side. The Bollywood actor was among the first ones to reach Malaika's residence after the tragic news broke. Recently, Arjun opened up about being there for Malaika in her tough time, irrespective of their past. Arjun and Malaika dated for a few years before they broke up.
Arjun Kapoor on being there for Malaika Arora
On Raj Shamani's podcast, Arjun Kapoor revealed it was an instinct to be there for Malaika Arora after her father's demise. He mentioned that it was similar to how he reconnected with his dad Boney Kapoor and half-sisters Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor after Sridevi's death.
"When what happened with Dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. And in this case, also, there was an instinct and impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad," shared Arjun.
The actor said he will be there when he's invited for the good and even when he's needed for the bad. "I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends, I’m not doing this for all and sundry. If that person doesn’t want me there, I’ll maintain a distance, as I have in the past," he added.
Talking about Arjun and Malaika, they reportedly started dating around 2016. The actress had separated from Arbaaz Khan. Both Arjun and Malaika were vocal about their relationship. It was only a few months ago that Kapoor confirmed his break-up and revealed that he is single.
Arjun Kapoor's work front
On the work front, Arjun was seen as Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The actor played the role of a main antagonist in the cop-drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Arjun garnered a lot of praise for his performance in the film. The movie clashed with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office.
