In Singham Again Rohit Shetty appears to have discovered a formidable villain in Arjun Kapoor, once again, to rival Ajay Devgn, his colossal hero. The Ishaqzaade actor has now revealed that he is receiving overwhelming support from his fans, nearly seven days after he debuted his first glimpse as the terrifying antagonist. Arjun finds more joy, however, in knowing that directors see him in other parts.

Embracing the challenge of portraying an antagonist in Singham Again

During an interaction with Mid Day, the actor stated that everyone who has given him an opportunity to shine, from directors to producers, has his eternal gratitude. The actor is overjoyed that Shetty recognised his acting abilities and cast him as the antagonist in his lavishly produced film, Singham Again. Arjun claims he has given it his all.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh, Arjun will face off against a legion of law enforcement officers in the third instalment of the Singham franchise. For him, becoming an anti-hero is a natural progression from being a hero. He claims it is in keeping with his mission of being unconventional.

Arjun Kapoor's journey

Arjun further said that he had no intention of entering the acting profession, but as he saw more and more films and marvelled at the commitment of those working in the industry to making positive entertainment, he couldn't help but fall in love with the cinema. So, the actor wasn't overly concerned with the roles cast for him when he wanted to test the waters of acting. When Arjun watched actors give it their all onscreen, he yearned for the same rush of adrenaline and pure delight. Being on camera was something the actor wanted to experience.

Over the course of his twelve-year career, Arjun has experimented with various parts, such as the eccentric Finding Fanny (2014) and the sombre Kuttey (2023), and he has picked films based on their storylines rather than his reputation.

The actor also said that he has always been a confident performer. He has acted in leading roles; he was the first of his generation to star in a two-hero film (Gunday 2014), an ensemble film (Mubarakan, 2017), a male homemaker opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan (Ki & Ka, 2016), and now he is portraying a complete anti-hero.
