The series features Mamoudou Athie, Dina Shihabi, Evan Jonigkeit and is executive produced by James Wan and Rebecca Sonnenshine based on a horror podcast
The streaming giant Netflix is sure to begin the year with a horror note. The OTT player is releasing another horror series Archive 81, based on a podcast of the same name. The series revolves around an archivist Dan Turner, played by Mamoudou Athie, who takes up the job of restoring some videotapes in a dingy and spooky research centre and gets pulled into the world of mystery and demonic cult.
The makers have released the trailer and it looks like a mind-bending and spine-chilling drama. It opens with the scene of the archivist entering the building and being disturbed by some unexplained events and hallucinations. He is seen taking pills for anxiety and not accepting that he is facing troubles in the Visser apartment building. A voice-over is repeatedly heard asking what is going on in the building.
