Arbaaz Khan and Salman Khan will return for Dabangg 4 soon
Arbaaz Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his next production film Bandaa Singh Chaudhary starring Arshad Warsi and Maher Vij in the lead roles, got candid about his films and working with brother Salman Khan on-screen. Arbaaz recalled casting himself as Salman’s brother in their successful franchise film, Dabangg. The actor spoke to News18 about being an actor in his own production films, and shared that while he would rather not focus on acting when it comes to production, there are moments when he doesn’t see someone else. Here’s what he said…
When asked if producing a film, does Arbaaz Khan feel greedy to cast himself in the project, Arshad Warsi joked that is why they would call Arbaaz to the project later. Laughing at it, Arbaaz then answered with the example of Dabangg. "I never thought anybody would play Salman Khan's brother in Dabangg as good as me and so I cast myself in it," he said, feeling that he was right in making that call.
He also recalled projects where he produced movies but did not cast himself. Dolly Ki Doli and Patnaa Shukla were some projects where Arbaaz feels he could have cast himself but found better choices and thus, he didn't cast himself in those roles. Arbaaz further adds that he does not want the focus to shift from the filmmaking process to acting and thus, he tries his best to not cast himself in his production films, at least initially.
Arshad Warsi, who was also a part of the conversation, mentioned that there are no camps in specific but in the industry, one would prefer working with the people they’re comfortable with. The actor calls it a natural process. To that, Arbaaz added, "If they've found success in that combination, there's no reason to change."
More recently, Arbaaz had confirmed that Dabangg 4 is in the making, but there’s no further update on the same. He had mentioned that the movie is in the scripting process currently and it will take time to go on floors.
