Jeetu Kamal is all set to play a sleuth in Dulal Dey’s film Aranyar Prachin Prabad. Jeetu shared the poster on social media on September 19. Aranyar Prachin Prabad is going to be yet another detective film in Tollywood.

Jeetu plays the protagonist, Aranya Chatterjee. The works of Aranya Chatterjee will be published as a book before the film is released. Dulal Dey informed the media that he had a plan to make a franchise. Aranya’s brother-in-law Sudarshan Halder will write about his different adventures.Silajit Majumdar plays the role. Councillor Ananya Banerjee will play a guest character in the film.

Talking about the character, Jeetu told Aajkal Dot Net, “The story touched me. It has some interesting aspects. Cricket plays an important part in the film. I played in the second division. That is another reason.” Why did he agree to work in a director’s debut film? “Everyone has a first time. The same happened to me. We have to start from somewhere. I felt that this person was passionate and played with the script for a long time. The rest is luck.”

Will the audience be interested in a sleuth in the crowd of so many detectives? The director replied, “My film’s theme is different. The sleuth is good at cricket. He is a student of medicine. Silajit plays a CID inspector.” The story takes place in Ranaghat where a doctor dies. Aranya goes there. He gets involved with the mystery.

Rafiath Rashid Mithila plays a nurse in the film. Suhatro Mukhopadhyay plays an important role. Loknath Dey, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, and Sayan will play other roles. The shooting will take place in Kolkata, Baruipur, Bantala, and Krishnanagar. Pratip Mukhopadhyay is the DoP and Subhadip Guha, of Ballabhpurer Rupkotha fame, is the composer.
