The Academy Award-winning composer shared pictures from the recording session of Cobra
It looks like AR Rahman is working on Cobra tunes during his recent concert tour in the US. The Academy Award-winning composer shared a picture from the studio on his social media page and captioned it, Cobra. Since the album is already released, the composer seems like working on the background score of the film. AR Rahman is in the US on a 15-day city tour and has been sharing regular updates from the tour on his social media handle.
The composer will be performing in Florida today. He wrote on his social media page, "Florida! Cobra, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, is a spy thriller, and has Vikram playing a mathematician. The album of the action entertainer comprises five songs- Thumbi Thullal (sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Nakul Abhyankar), Adheera (sung by Bagu Mazan), Uyir Urugudhey (sung by AR Rahman), Tharangini (sung by Sarthak Kalyani) and Yele Ilanchingamey (sung by Rakshita Suresh).
Srinidhi Shetty of K.G.F fame, will make her debut in the Tamil film industry with the film, along with veteran Malayalam actor Mamu Koya. Also making is debut as an actor is ace former cricketer Irfan Pathan. The supporting cast includes Babu Antony, KS Ravikumar, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Kaniha, Miya George, Mrinalini Ravi, Roshan Mathew, Sarjano Khalid, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Poovaiyar and Mohammad Ali Baig. Cobra, which was initially announced as an August 11 release, will now releases on August 31.
In the meantime, the first single from Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan: I, was released recently. The single, Ponni Nadhi, composed by AR Rahman, is said to be a tribute to the Cholas. Ponniyin Selvan: I is gearing up for release on September 30 in five languages.
