James Wan masterstroke Aquaman 2, or better known as Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is finally sure of its theatrical release, confirming the date. The film had initially been chosen for a December release of 2022 but had later been postponed to March 2023. Finally, the date had trickled down to December 25, was then pre-poned to December 20, 2023.

Finally, the much-anticipated sequel is dropping in international theatres December 22, 2023, onwards. It will be competing with the likes of The Iron Claw and Anyone But You at the box office.

Hopefully, the film will have its OTT debut early next year on Max, as the norm with Warner Bros. The film had also released two trailers, sharing the first official one on September 14, 2023, and the second one on November 20.

The trailers offer a passing yet thorough glimpse of the chaotic sub-aquatic adventure that is about to take place. Protagonist Arthur Curry, aka Momoa, finally “has a job.” Albeit it is taking care of their baby and ruling an underwater kingdom comprising of half a billion residents. However, things do not remain peaceful for long, due to the still alive but vengeful Black Manta, who intends to avenge his father's death.

In order to do that, the young rebel will stop at nothing, not even at making a deal with an evil, devil-like spirit in order to gain the mythical Black Trident and its dark magic. Now it is up to Arthur Curry aka Aquaman to reunite the seven kingdoms under his banner, reconcile issues with his brother, the erstwhile king Orm, and defeat the new threat.

Starring Jason Momoa, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Stewart, Amber Heard in the leading roles, the film also features Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Indya Moore, Vincent Regan, and Jani Zhao as prominent cast.
