There is no way to understand how this latest update is going to help the movie that is up for its big release in less than a week, but Jason Momoa might have given the biggest closure in a cryptic way to everyone curious to get a confirmation on whether Aquaman ends here or not. Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom aka Aquaman 2 is probably the most controversial movie in the past two years. While its existing controversies were more than enough, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s entry to DCU brought some more danger.

What Is The Fuss About?

It was soon speculated that this is the last of Jason Momoa as Aquaman we will get to see and later we learned that Gunn and Safran may recast the actor as Lobo in their version of DCU. There was no confirmation on this until the point Jason decided to say that the future of the Aquaman franchise doesn’t look good from where he stands. The actor was in conversation on the Aquaman 2 promotional tour as per The Hollywood Reporter, where he made the revelation.

Talking about the future of the franchise beyond Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, Jason Mamoa said, "I don’t necessarily want it to be the end...[but] I don’t think it's really, like, a choice." Explaining his statement he emphasized how James Gunn and Peter Safran want to start their own new thing which makes the future difficult for the existing storyline.

"The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there's a possibility," Jason Momoa added about the future of Aquaman. "But right now, I’m like, 'It's not looking too good.’ I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time. I kind of see where I would want it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, like there's a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it."

Will Jason Momoa Play Lobo?

Jason Momoa was later asked if he wanted to play Lobo by leaving behind Aquaman under the same umbrella. The actor said, "If there's a place in their world for me, I would love to be a part of it. This is my home. Warner and DC is definitely my home. So, that’s all I'll say. I was a big Lobo fan growing up, I read every comic. So that would be really cool."
