After her incredible performance in Soorarai Pottru, actress Aparna Balamurali is all set to play the female lead in the Tamil remake of Badhaai Ho. She will be paired opposite R J Balaji in the comedy-drama titled as Veetila Visheshanga.
Aparna, who made her acting debut with the Malayalam movie Yathra Thudarunnu, has come a long way, with a few hit films like Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Sunday Holiday and Soorarai Pottru to her credit. Besides acting, she is also a classical dancer and a playback singer.
Apart from Aparna and Balaji, Sathyaraj and Urvashi will also be in the remake directed by Balaji himself. The official announcement about the remaining cast and crew of the movie is expected to happen shortly.
Badhaai Ho, the 2018 Hindi-language movie directed by Amit Sharma, had Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles. The movie revolved around the story of a middle-aged couple who get pregnant, which makes their sons disappointed. Set against the background of a middle-class Delhi household, the film also had Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri in pivotal roles. The movie, which received appreciation from several quarters, was a commercial success, too.
The production of Veetila Visheshanga had been stagnated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now reports are coming that the shooting is likely to begin from August. Meanwhile, R J Balaji is also a part of Yung Mung Sung, starring Prabhudeva in lead role. The film has been lying in the cans for some time now.
