Why did the director choose a new detective in the crowd of so many sleuths in Bengali cinema? Dulal said, “There are many layers in the story. My hero is not like the ordinary sleuths. He plays cricket excellently and is a final-year student of medicine. He becomes involved in an incident and starts investigating.” However, like the other detectives, this character will also have his base on literature. Dulal said that his story will be published as a book before the film’s release. This detective will solve several cases, just like others.

It is said that an actor earns true status only if they play a sleuth in Tollywood. In Aparajito, Jeetu has played Satyajit Ray – who is the maker of an iconic sleuth, Feluda. But how does he feel being a detective? Jeetu said, “I got offers of playing detectives before. I was asked to play Kiriti. But I think the Feluda or Byomkesh films are commercially made here. Everyone acts wonderfully in those films, But I did not feel any urge. The current role is different. He does not investigate intentionally, but rather from an instinct. I thought it would help me as an actor in real life if I played the role. Hence I agreed.” He is also happy to get the role of a cricketer since he is adept at the game.
The film’s name is Aranyar Prachin Prabad. Rafiat Rashid Mithila, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Loknath Dey will play other roles. Prateep Mukhopadhyay will be the DoP.
