During his performance at Coachella, AP Dhillon garnered backlash for his gesture of breaking the guitar on stage.
AP Dhillon, an Indian-origin Canadian musician, recently performed at the Coachella festival. The singer later took to his social media and uploaded a video where he can be seen breaking his guitar post his performance on the stage. AP received a lot of flak for this gesture and netizens slammed him for this behaviour. Now, singer Rahul Vaidya shared his disappointment with the 'Brown Munde' fame singer.
A paparazzi page which goes by the name 'Viral Bhayani' shared AP Dhillon's video where he can be seen breaking a Yellow electric guitar as he finishes his performance. On the post, Rahul Vaidya commented, "Unfortunate behaviour! In our culture we are taught to worship stage and musical instruments.. and this Punjabi artist who hails from punjab is copying this old western style of breaking guitars on stage! Sad. AP don’t forget your roots brother! @ap.dhillxn"

Besides Rahul, a lot of social media users slammed AP for this gesture of breaking a guitar. One user wrote, "So unnecessary. 🙄Respect the instrument - it’s Music dude." While another one wrote, "Akhand chutiyapa....Andhe ko jb dikhne lgta hai to sbse pehle vo usi lathe ko todta hai jiske sahare se vo aaj tk chla tha" One also commented, "Umm…. AP is a legend but this move was 🤮for an artist ? The instruments are to be worshiped upon"
When AP posted the same video on his Instagram account, a lot of people in the comments section reminded him of actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh by commenting, "That is what makes Diljit different from others."
Meanwhile, besides AP Dhillon, the other participants who performed at Coachella 2024 are Doja Cat, Tyler, Lana Del Rey, the Creator and No Doubt. Ice Spice, Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Sublime, Gromes, Lil Uzi Vert, Victoria Monet, Bleachers, Justice, Jon Batiste, Lil Yatchy, and Blur are the others who are listed to perform at the festival. This is the 23rd year of Coachella. Diljit Dosanjh was the first Indian to perform at the festival last year.
