Anurag Kashyap shares a video, remembers the day when he carried dictionary to explain the meaning of CH*TIYA to censor board

The Indian filmmaker talks about the 1998 film, Satya in his latest post on social media.

Anurag Kashyap is one of the most loved filmmakers in India at present. Before directing films, he used to write scripts for some famous directors of the country. The Gangs of Wasseypur director has co-written the 1998 film Satya with Saurabh Shukla. The crime-drama film stars J. D. Chakravarthy, Urmila Matondkar, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Bajpayee, Makrand Deshpande, Shukla and Shefali Shah. Now, 23 years after the release, the movie-maker remembers an incident that happened during the screening of Satya and shares a video on his social media handle that displays a person talking about the word Ch*tiya and explaining how it's now an abuse.

The video sees a person showcasing several pages of a dictionary and explaining the different meanings of the word and mentioning how Ch*tiya is not abuse. The narrator in the video also explained how the word originated and from where.

Kashyap shared the full video on his official Instagram handle with an explanation and revelation of the whole incident he went through during the screening of Satya. The post reads, "Bahut bada sach.. during the censor screening of SATYA I carried a Hindi dictionary to explain the same to the censor board tha CHUTIYA is not a gaali (sic)."

Meanwhile, Kashyap is currently gearing up to release the Taapsee Pannu starrer Dobaaraa, which is slated to arrive on August 19 in theatres. The mystery thriller film also stars Pavail Gulati in a major role.

Earlier on Tuesday, the writer-director shared a mysterious poster from the film and captioned it, "Ye mystery toh aur bhi badhti jaa rahi hai. (sic)."
