Anupamaa: Namaste America: Mahadev fame Puja Banerjee to enter the show, opposite Sudhanshu Pandey

The prequel of the hit TV show Anupamaa, which will release on Disney+ Hotstar, also has Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya and Paras Kalnwat.

Star Plus' television drama series Anupamaa has been a sensational hit in India and has still been going strong. The Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna and Sudhanshu Pandey starrer is also available to stream online on Disney+ Hotstar. Meanwhile, one of the producers of the Hindi language show is now gearing up for a prequel series titled Anupamaa: Namaste America on the OTT giant. Now, there have been a few speculations regarding the cast of the forthcoming series that are doing rounds on the internet.

According to the makers, Anupamaa: Namaste America will be set 17 years ago in the lead actress' life, which clearly rules out Paras Kalnawat, Nidhi Shah and Aashish Mehrotra, who play the characters of the children of the lead actors. Madalsa Sharma would not be able to be a part of the new show as well as she came into Vanraj's (Sudhanshu) life after he got married to Anupamaa (Rupali).

Amid all this, it has been revealed that actress Puja Banerjee will be a crucial part of the upcoming series. The Devo Ke Dev Mahadev actress took an image of her with Sudhanshu and shared it by introducing her character's name from Anupamaa: Namaste America. The IG post reads, "Here i present u Rittika Watch me & @sudanshu_pandey with a new avatar in #anupamanamasteamerica america only on @disneyplushotstar soon (Sic)."

In a recent interview with Indian Today, the Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna actress talked about the upcoming series and her role in it as well. She mentioned that Sudhanshu is like her best friend and she is really excited to share the screen space with him after working together on their first film titled Rajdhani Express. "In the prequel series, I will be playing the role of Ritika who is Vanraaj’s ex-girlfriend from his college days," the actress revealed.
