Anupama- Namaste America: Sudhanshu Pandey says the show allowed him to explore multiple aspects of masculinity

Anupama– Namaste America is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on April 25.

Star Plus' television drama series Anupamaa has been a sensational hit in India and has still been going strong. The Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna and Sudhanshu Pandey starrer is also available to stream online on Disney+ Hotstar. Meanwhile, the makers are all set to release its prequel titled Anupama – Namaste America.

According to the makers, the upcoming prequel is set 17 years ago from the current story of Anupamaa. Rupali, Gaurav and Sudhanshu are set to reprise their characters from the ongoing series, while the forthcoming instalment adds Pooja Banerjee as one of the leas characters.

Sudhanshu, who plays the role of Anupama's husband Vanraj Shah, feels that an actor needs to enjoy his character, otherwise it becomes taxing. Recently, he said in a statement, "One of the biggest differences between acting for OTT and television is that, for television, you play a character for a very long time. If you do not enjoy the character, then it becomes very taxing. I feel grateful that I was given a character like Vanraj, who has so many shades and layers." The actor further added that his character on Anupamaa allowed him to explore multiple aspects of masculinity in each episode.

Sudhanshu also unveiled in the statement that in Anupama - Namaste America, the audience will get to see the formative years of Vanraj’s character.

Anupama - Namaste America, which also has Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya and Ekta Sariya in important roles, is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on April 25.
